My dear friends, fans and followers it's again my pleasure welcoming you to my blog where I beam insights and share tips on many topical issues of life. I hope in your businesses, careers, relationships and other areas of human engagements, you are doing well.
Today, come with me let's look at the training requirements for the players in fleet management, logistics department and driving profession.
The fleet management department/unit of every organisation is saddled with the responsibility of moving people and goods from point A to point B safely, timely and at the most efficient costs.
Among other key duties and responsibilities of this department/unit are to (a) ensure safety of both the fleet and drivers (b)minimize incidents (c)foster high level driving responsibility (d) minimize fuel consumption (e) minimize fleet maintenance costs (f) build strong safety culture (g)formulate efficient fleet management policies and (h) ensure the best of driving etiquettes generally but specifically, the drivers who are the faces of the organization out there should not only be kitted with requisite tools and gadgets to enable them play their roles effectively but in line with driving challenges today be internally or by way of outsourcing adequately trained on 🌑technical driving 🌑car maintenance 🌑use of car gadgets/accessories 🌑safety driving 🌑uses of road maps for navigation and ensure the best of driving etiquettes. The training could take the form of orientation, in-house courses, seminars , short courses, refresher courses or externally outsourced from appropriate agencies and specialized, corporate bodies.
Each of these around which, from time to time or as need arises , trainings could be packaged remain the minimum today for any organization to maximize it's resources in feet management/logistics department or unit.
It is instructive to note that the role of this department/unit in any organization is central to the achievement of the overall business goals and objectives. Some of the training needs for fleet officers and drivers are actually reducible and could be reduced to kits or handbooks.
Again, while it is imperative for every organization wishing to maximize it's resources in this department to train the staffers along these elements, individuals wishing to take up a career in fleet management, logistics or driving professions will have advantage in the labour market by taking up the appropriate course among those itemised at least, a short, certification, relevant course.
It's being my pleasure beaming light and sharing tips with you on the training needs of fleet management and logistics department and the staffs thereof.
