PARENTING TODAY : THE AGE OF ICT, INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA

MY DEAR FRIENDS, MY FANS, MY FOLLOWERS, it's my pleasure welcoming you to my world, my space, my platform, BLOGGING FOR MONEY BLOG, the forum where ideas on business, careers, skills, internet, professions and relationships are shared,aggregated and interactively discussed just for you to be the best you can in any area of human engagements. You are welcome. Today Information Communication Technology (ICT), internet, social media and all it's channels are here for real and with all of these firmly at the beck and call of today,s child, PARENTING has never in the history of man been this challenging, daunting and dynamic. You see the arrival of these powerful channels of communication in the the life of man is analogous to a situation whereby life throws a knife at you, you have a choice to catch it by the handle and use it to carve a good life for yourself or catch it by the blade and get seriously injured in the process, yes this is true of these modern means of communication. You see my dear friends, fans, followers and readers before the birth of these modern tools of information, communication technology, information and influences that shape and mould a child into whatever he,she becomes used to be solely from the fathers, the mothers, the guardians, the teachers, religious leaders, friends and relatives of the parents and of course the neighbours. Today more than ninety percent of all positive and negative influences and information that shape and mould the children are from the radios, the TVs, the computers, the Facebook, Instagram, the internet, the magazines and the rest of the modern communication tools and their channels. The influences of the modern ICT, internet and all it's channels on today's child are real, powerful, massive and irresistibly intimidating. This does not however altogether mean the the modern ICT, internet, all it's channels and the influences they have on the children are negative or bad NO, but it does mean more challenges for the parents in parenting in terms of what, when, how of modern parenting. For it is the duty and desire of every parent to guide, mould his/her child to become a responsible and upright member of the society morally, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Yes in their millions, the POSTS, articles, sites, the blogs, the channels, the publications and the magazines are their free for the child, daily churning out , promoting pornographies, immoralities and Violence. They are their with the powers, the holds, the controls, and the influences they exert on the children, but you , as parents are not helpless, you equally have in abundance from the same sources and channels clips, posts, articles,videos, images and publications that can be used/employed to positively train, mould, and shape the children. My dear parents and guardians, as part of modern tools, in ICT, internet and social media that are available to you in modern parenting, in addition to the traditional one on one discussion, irrespective of whether your child is near or far away in school, abroad or in another city, learn to⚫discus with or send to him,her appropriate articles, clips, videos that will help him, her become morally upright ⚫ discuss with or send to him,her videos, clips,articles, publications or images that will teach him,her both positive and negative side effects of pornographies, immoralities and social vices ⚫use the abundant upright building clips, videos and publications on the net to bring attention of the children to the negative consequences of disobedience, get rich quick, immoralities, bad gangs and social vices. Generally learn and tap fully all available tools, resources, channels and contacts you can lay your hands on as parents in modern PARENTING to shape, discuss, mould and train your children in order to become responsible members of the society mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Ladies and gentlemen, I have enjoyed every bit of giving out these tips in the face of onslaught of ICT, internet and all it's channels.     We parents must never forget that children do observe us carefully and quickly pick up our own behavioral pattern. As responsible parents we must imbibe the values of life in our practice which we may expect our children to do so.

In career, business, relationship and other areas of human engagements, very often we create the the problem, the impression that we need the validation of every other person, their approval, yes to the extent of it's consistency with the dos and donts of our creator, all of these should be observed, there is culture everywhere, in everythig we do , the culture of your place of birth, career, business and professional cultures. I will not be the one to tell you it is wrong to observe cultures, at least to the extent of their CONSISTENCY but i can tell you that before others validate and/or approve you , you must be you, you must be your own favorite BE YOU OWN FAVORITE.
